Introduction

Intro:Born to an aristocratic family on the evening of December 31, 1700 in Briançon, France. Malachi's family moved to London when he was two and a half years old so his memories of Briançon is pretty much non-existent. He has always been an alert, bright and a quick witted individual who had a smile on his face every time you turned around. His presence was always welcomed and many who came across him doted upon him and he was all around just happy. Growing up well off in every way possible gave Malachi some greater opportunities that most did not have at the time, one was being well educated.Malachi was always curious and willing to learn about everything and anything he could possibly try to learn. That had never left him even as a young adult. He had not only become more curious he was also very cautious and sarcastic, although it was very much below him to be cruel or crude in any way, shape or form.Death & Rebirth:Malachi when he was twenty one, was on the brink of death as he was afflicted by the Black Death which struck the city of London and it's outskirts. Unfortunately most of his family had perished from the disease. The only surviving family members were his middle sister and father, although the latter had died a couple of years after he and most of the family had. What had happened to his sister was unknown: word was that her grief from all the loss drove her to madness and she either died or landed herself in an asylum.If it wasn't for their peculiarly skilled in house nurse who had "saved" him when she had seen him suffering tremendously from the accursed Plague, he would have certainly met his own fate as well.To this day he would periodically find himself wondering why him? What was so special about him to be saved? It's to note that this nurse DID TRY to save the rest of his family, so it wasn't a situation where she had let the rest of his family die while he was saved.Malachi looks at the day he was turned into a vampire as a brand new life and a new start. Completely shedding any guilt and whatever else that had plague him in his former life. Including a young woman he was romantically interested in.Being turned was an experience in its own right: beautiful but excruciating. Especially for the first several days of his change as it took him sometime, quite possibly days to fully "die" before he was reborn. The year and a half or so he became a vampire, was painstakingly difficult due to the insatiable yet irritating scratching in his throat from the never ending thirst that had soon followed. It took immense willpower in having to keep it under control. Malachi found that self control was quiet easy as a human, but a bit more of a challenge when your a fucking supernatural being.Being a ‘newborn’ whilst having to learn to navigate the new life and all that it offered in it's lifestyle itself was a challenge in its own right as well. One was learning self control, which took years for Malachi to eventually master in full, however every so often he does allow himself to give in to that nagging ache for blood whenever it strikes. The second would be his senses. Everything seemed more high definition and brighter, not to mention how much his hearing vastly improved.

Miscellaneous

He does not consider the process of killing by draining someone completely of their blood through feeding upon humans as an entirely immoral act. It's simply a way of life for him and those of his ilk which is just an absolute necessity for survival. Much like how humans need their sustenance to survive, it was the exact same thing for him. He doesn't feel bad about it. And why should he?Feedings:The most he can go without feeding is up to two weeks tops. Three, although plausible it is really pushing it. The frequency in which he needs to is also heavily dependent on if he has to use any of his abilities or if he plans on being intimate. Which case he will need to go feed much much much sooner or not long thereafter. He also doesn't need human sustenance like food or drink to survive on, but does partake to blend in with the population.The act of turning:
[ Also a little background on how Malachi met and turned his mate. ]Malachi only turns people if he absolutely feels it necessary, which is very rare that he does. The last person he had turned was his mate (and later on his wife), Valeria. Val was a highly skilled tracker who was sent to end him, instead she became the thing that she's long hunted. Valeria had spent some time trying to track and later hunt Malachi down in an old house and while playing a little game of cat and mouse with her, he got a little carried away and bit her. Through that bite Malachi infected her with the venom in his saliva once his fangs had punctured her skin, which made her deathly sick after only a few hours after being bitten.He ended up toying with her some more after he'd bit her and ended up actually liking it and her to the point it actually began to turn him on, which in turn freaked him out and he ended up abandoning Valeria for three to four days. Malachi had eventually returned after being plagued by hearing her constantly in his mind (and mayhaps it was guilt since he did like her) and finally finished the process of turning her and that was the last time he ever did such.To this day he never could explain nor understand why there was something about Val that he liked and spoke to him, resulting in him to not fully kill her, unlike all those who had come to do the same before her.

Human years: 21 (the age when he "died.")Physical: Malachi is quite petite for a human male but don't underestimate him for this.

Lifestyle

Being over three hundred years old, it makes him an elder vampire; Malachi has been living through the fast paced and ever evolving world of many tragedies and decadence. He's also not a cruel person by nature and by any means, contrary to the facade of this cold or stiff persona he may put on or what others may speak about him behind his back.Malachi is also pretty cultured in all manners of art, music and literature. He's lived through many, many centuries and certainly plenty of decades and each turn has always tended to give him a bit of a culture shock with how much things change from year to year and decade to decade. But he manages and adapts rather quickly.Work:Malachi is a freelance artist in the more modern world, which gives him collective freedom to do as he pleases as he is often paid off in commission work or if some local papers or websites and such needed him to draw something up for them. He does this while also working for Adrian (Lucifer), as do a good majority of the supernatural beings that he is closest to. So really he has no need to worry about money from his regular job as Adrian’s work covers him immensely as it pays handsomely.Other:Unlike most of his kind, he can go outside during the daytime without any issues or suffering at consequences from it.For a long long time and it was a very common thing with those like him was that he absolutely cannot see himself in mirrors. However once mirrors stopped being made with genuine silver he was able to be seen in them. He can also be seen in other reflective surfaces so long as it's silver-free.Even photographs; back then he couldn't be seen but then it also depended on what the camera was made out of. But now since phones are made without silver he can take pictures of himself and be seen with no issues as well.He also cannot go into someone's house without being formally invited in. It's literally like there's an unseen barrier there that prevents him from entering.Malachi also speaks French quite fluently and can adapt to other countries or languages with utter ease.Relationships:Malachi was in a two year relationship with another vampire named Elizabeth Johnson, now March who's over 112 years old. He's known her for a while now. The pair had met by pure chance in Los Angeles at her Hotel one evening. While traveling he would stay at the Cortez and often be at the bar, where they'd met. After so much heavy flirting back and forth between the two of them and after several run ins during his stay in LA, they finally decided to date. Of course she had stipulation during their dating was that he was to only be with her, which was no issue. Although many other women had flirted with him, she was quite jealous and oftentimes had them dealt with accordingly. However whenever he got jealous it seemed that she often disregarded his feelings. It often set off some arguments between the two but they'd always make up.In fact because of her, he lives in LA which extended past their course of their relationship. And contrary to anything Elizabeth was the one who ended the relationship and decided they would be better off as friends, which ultimately he became okay with. If she didn't end things then his current path to Valeria would never happen. Which was Elizabeth's reasoning why she chose to end their relationship, she simply knew that Malachi was not meant for her by the second year they were together but someone else who had yet to come was made for him. Shortly thereafter their relationship ended he heard that Elizabeth had remarried her ex-husband James Patrick March. Malachi had known about him due to conversations he and Liz had, that and the fact he actually met him during his stay at the Cortez.For a long long time Malachi had thought that he was in love with Liz but it was not the case after ruminating on their relationship for a few years after it ended prior to meeting Valeria and there had never been any hard feelings between the two either. She has been nothing but an amazing friend to him and has helped him with plenty of situations he's found himself in. She also gives him advice when he is in need, whether or not he asks for it. The two do talk on the regular and he holds her in high regards and has nothing but platonic love for her.He now had found his purpose and reason to keep going with his beloved mate Valeria and their daughter Eliza.

Abilities & Miscellaneous

To start off Malachi is immortal, however he is not immune to physical injuries, which can still happen, however he can heal from them a lot faster. A lot of these abilities he managed to get from his creator, Amélie, some he developed over time as he grew in vampire age.His senses are very sharp, especially with smell and hearing, he can hear a pin drop in a loud room that is how refined that is. He can also sense if someone's blood is polluted with drugs, prescription, recreational or otherwise or if someone's blood alcohol level is really high. He will not feed on those types whatsoever for the mere fact he will feel incredulously sick afterwards. He made a mistake of doing that when he was still learning and it has been a valuable lesson.He can easily detect heartbeats and track them with ease, a great skill for hunting. He has a bit of a limp that is sometimes prominent and sometimes not; it is from a fall he took when he was a boy. It never healed properly and it apparently transferred to his new self. Despite that, Malachi is swift and quick with his movements and is quiet when he stalks and hunts for his prey.Malachi’s vision is 20/20 and far superior to a mortal's eyesight in that regard.One of his other abilities that he only uses if he is in absolute danger is the ability to make people hallucinate or create an alternative reality or oftentimes a nightmare realm or reality for them simply by feeding off their fears. It's not a lasting effect once he leaves the person(s) presence or if he lets the person(s) he’s inflicted live.Malachi recently found out that he can make things go dark by covering enemies and the like in an ebony thick cloud or mist; enveloping enemies in the dark for as long as he needs, allowing him to quickly escape or making it into a dangerous weapon especially if he uses the aforementioned ability of making someone hallucinate.Miscellaneous:Malachi's home is quite exquisite, and is a multi story mansion on large property which he has mirroring his family's home back in London. After being in apartments for so many years since he moved to Los Angeles and struggling to make ends meet, eventually he and Adrian crossed paths and he gave him far less dangerous work than everyone else. He eventually was able to earn his keep and bought his own home, well mansion. Unlike everyone else, Malachi had picked out his own servants who still work for him to this day. He also has a forged birth certificate and appropriate licenses for his US based living and things there.He owns two Ravens, Ragnar and Shadow or as he calls the latter by an old French word, "ombrage."[As I think of more things to add, I'll edit this as necessary.]
